Solute

Any substance that is being dissolved in a solution is term as solute. Basically, components of any  solution can be classified as solute and solvent. Component which is present in excess when compare to other components is term as solvent. And the other components which are present in less quantity are know as solutes for any solution. These termologies are applicable for all  dissolving processes. For this process, particles of solute needs to interact with solvent at moleculer levels.
