Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

To visualize the following on the number line, using successive magnification method

i) 5.726

ii)3.7878…

What is successive magnification method:

In this method we put a magnifying glass between two number, then we can see large version of 10 points which lies between two natural numbers, and so on

1) 5.726

as 5.7 lies between 5 and 6,so put a magnifying glass between 5 and 6,as shown in attachment.

then put magnifying glass between 5.7 and 5.8(because 5.72 lies between 5.7 and 5.8)

by this way in third step put then put magnifying glass between 5.72 and 5.73(because 5.726 lies between 5.72 and 5.73)

Thus, representation of 5.726 has been done.

2) 3.7878

as 3.7 lies between 3 and 4,so put a magnifying glass between 3 and 4,as shown in attachment.

then put magnifying glass between 3.7 and 3.8(because 3.78 lies between 3.7 and 3.8)

by this way in third step put then put magnifying glass between 3.78and 3.79(because 3.787 lies between 3.78 and 3.79)

and so on

Thus, representation of 3.7878 up to four decimal points has been done.

Hope it helps you.
