We have:

\dfrac{3}{4} and \dfrac{4}{5}

We have to find, the sum of \dfrac{3}{4} and \dfrac{4}{5}.

Solution:

\dfrac{3}{4} + \dfrac{4}{5}

4 = 2 × 2 and 5 =  5 × 2

∴ LCM of 4 and 5 = 2 × 2 × 5 = 20

\dfrac{3}{4} + \dfrac{4}{5}

= \dfrac{5\times 3+ 4\times 4}{20}

= \dfrac{15+ 16}{20}

= \dfrac{31}{20}

\dfrac{3}{4} + \dfrac{4}{5} = \dfrac{31}{20}

Thus, the summation of \dfrac{3}{4} and \dfrac{4}{5} is \dfrac{31}{20}.
