 \frac{3}{8}  +  \frac{ - 5}{12}

for addition we have to make the denominator same

LCM of 8 & 12= 24

 \frac{3 \times 3}{8 \times 3}  \times  \frac{ - 5 \times 2}{12 \times 2}  =  \frac{9}{24}  \times  \frac{ - 10}{24}

final \: answer =  \frac{ - 90}{24}
