What is the sum of all of the even numbers from 2 to 200?
There are two method to solve this problem.
First method: using AP series
First term of an AP =2, common difference =2
No of term =100 why
Last term =200=2+(n-1)*2
n=100
Sum of n term =(n/2)[2a+(n-1)d]
=(100/2)[2*2+(100–1)*2]
=50*(202)=10100.
Second method:
Sum=2+4+6+8+……….+198+200
=2(1+2+3+4+5+…….+99+100)
=2*sum of first 100 natural number
=2*n*(n+1)/2
=2*100*101/2
=10100.
