sum of mole fraction is 1

shubham: please explain why it is 1
ranuranudas199pcd8r9: because mole fraction= no. of moles of solute/ total no. of moles in solution
shubham: thanks
ranuranudas199pcd8r9: suppose the no of moles of solute is n1..and that of solvent is n2...then correspond mole fraction will be ..n1/n1+n2 and n2/n1+n2and so on then sum of mole fraction is 1
ranuranudas199pcd8r9: ok
shubham: thanks bro
ranuranudas199pcd8r9: no thanks bro

Let, moles of Component A =a

Moles of Component B =b

Moles of Component C =c

Mole fraction of A = a / a+b+c

Mole fraction of B = b / a+b+c

Mole fraction of C = c / a+b+c

Therefore,

mole fraction of A + B + C = a+b+c / a+b+c = 1
