Sum of natural numbers till n = n(n+1)/2

Sum of natural numbers till 10 = 10(10+1)/2

= 10(11)/2

= 55

Sum of natural numbers till 40 = 40(40+1)/2

= 20(41)

= 820

Sum of natural numbers from 11 to 40 = 820-55

= 765

Hence, (2) 765 is the answer.

Hope it Helps!!!

Answer:

sum of n natural numbers is given by the formula S = n(n+1)/2

S (11 to 40) = S (1 to 40) - S (1 to 10)

=> (40 × 41)/2 - (10 × 11)/2

=> 820 - 55

=> 765
