As composite numbers are composed from a product of numbers, the smallest composite number will be the square of the smallest prime and therefore has that as HCF. The smallest prime is 2, so your answer is 2 even before knowing the smallest composite, which by the logic is 2*2 = 4.

The sum of the smallest prime number and smallest composite number is 6.

Given :

The smallest prime number

The smallest composite number

To find :

The sum of the smallest prime number and smallest composite number

Solution :

We know, that prime numbers are numbers which has only two factors.

1 is a factor, and the second factor is the number itself.

Therefore the smallest prime number is 2 with its two factors 1 and 2

We also know, that composite numbers are numbers that have more than two factors, 1 and the number itself being the mandatory two factors.

Therefore the smallest composite number is 4.

The sum of the smallest prime number and smallest composite number = 2+4

=6

Hence, The sum of the smallest prime number and smallest composite number is 6.
