Let the two numbers be x and y.

Given quotient is 4.

x/y = 4

x=4y

Also given difference is 45

x-y=45

4y-y=45

3y=45

y=15

So x=4y =4*15=60

So sum is 60+15=75

Answer:

let the two numbers be x and y such that x>y.

then, (x-y)= 45.. ........(I)

when x is divided by y , we get quotient as 4

so, x= 4y.........(2). (since the remainder is 0).

then, by putting x into EQ.(I),

: . 4y-y= 45

3y=45

so, y = 15

and x= 4y

x= (4×15)

x = 60.

thus ,sum of the numbers= (x+y)=(60+15)=75.
