nanja brings home an orphaned baby elephant Mallipoo. His wife,chella and children,minchu and savi are excited.They take good care of mallipoo,feeding her all the bananas from their orchard. malipoo grows up and starts helping chella water the orchard.she relieves nanja from the task of collecting wood from the forest . one day during summer, nanja , chella and savi go to village fair.minchu is to join them after watering the fruit trees. when minchu goes to the orchard, he is horrified to see three wild elephants destroying this neighbour's garden and then heading straight towards their. he tries to scare the elephants away by making sounds with an iron pot and a spoon. this angers the elephant and charges him at minchu . in the meantime, savi and her friends notice what is happening from atop the giant wheel. everybody rushes to nanja home . reaching there, they find mallipoo standing between minchu and the three elephants, stamping her feet and trumping loudly. the three elephants are caught off the guard when mallipoo charges at them and chases them far into the forest . nanja hugs mallipoo with tears of gratitude rolling down his face
