Answer:

Repulsion

Answer: Repulsion is the surest test of magnetism. Because a magnet can attract a magnet as well as another magnetic substance but it can only repel a magnet, not any magnetic substance. Hence, if one end of iron bar is repelled by the north pole of a bar magnet then it's surely a magnet.

Answer:

Sol. This is because, Repulsion takes place only between two likes poles of a magnet whereas attraction takes place between two unlike poles of a magnet and also  between a magnet and a magnetic material. So by attraction it cannot be surely identified the substance is a magnet or not. So, repulsion is the sure test of magnetism.
