There are two methods by which couples can prevent pregnancy, and those are:

1. VASECTOMY

2. TUBECTOMY

Vasectomy refers to the cutting and tying of the Vas Deferens, in order to prevent the flow of the sperms into the female during coitus.

Tubectomy refers to the cutting and tying of the fallopian tubes in order to prevent the passing of the ovum.

Both of these methods are irreversible and has to be done through surgery and only one member of the couple has to follow the method in order to prevent the pregnancy.

Female sterilization is a permanent procedure to prevent pregnancy. It works by blocking the fallopian tubes. When women choose not to have children, sterilization can be a good option. It's a slightly more complex and expensive procedure than male sterilization (vasectomy).
