the bulbs are actually strobe usually made from xenon lamps. An arc is formed inside the tube in intervals giving the appearance of Strobe. The temperature inside the tube near the arc may reach temperature of 10000 Kelvin and falls rapidly to 1200 to 1500 Kelvin near the arc tube.
