here's your answer

  • The term of the Legislative Assembly is five years. However, it may be dissolved earlier than that by the Governor on the request of the Chief Minister. The term of the Legislative Assembly may be extended during an emergency, but not more than six months at a time.

Answer:

The Vidhan Sabha is one of the two legislative houses in a bicameral legislature or the sole house in uni-cameral legislature. It is also called as the Legislative Assembly or the “lower house”. The other house in a bicameral legislature is Vidhan Parishad or the state Legislative Council.

The members of the Vidhan Sabha are elected for a term of 5 years by an electoral college comprising of citizen of the concerned state above the age of 18 years by means of single transferable vote.

The maximum no of members of Vidhan Sabha in a state should not exceed 500 members and the least no of members hsould not be less than 60 members ideally.
