Answer:

This scene establishes Antonio's friendship with Bassanio, and makes it clear that the two of them are devoted to one another; we see that the other friends surrounding Antonio are not as important to him as Bassanio is.

Answer:

the first 2 sceans of act 1 are totally dependent on thw whole play of Merchant Of Venice.

Explanation: The whole play of Merchant of Venice is dependent on the scene 1 and 2 of Act 1.in the first scene there are 4 things taking place, one that Antonio is sad and we don’t know why or what thing made him so sad. Second, antonio’s ships are on the waters. Third bassanio’s love towards portia and want to woo her, and the forth that bassanio needs some money from Antonio which Antonio can’t give so bassanio asked some money from shylock, an enemy of Antonio.

The first scene is set in such a way that we get to know what happens further in the story between Antonio and Shylock and their hatred towards each other. In the scene Antonio is sad but doesn't have a reason for it. One reason that made him sad must be the ships in the sail being safe and sound because it carries a lot of expensive materials. And Bassanio fell in love with Portia and expressed his love towards her but to woo her he had to go to persia and he would need some money for that situation as antonio was not able to give the expense he said him to loan from someone else and he will pay the loan. Bassion took loan from Shylock who was a jew and also an enemy of Antonio.

In the next scene it's about the casket. Portia being the only daughter of her father she cant choose a husband of her own, her father being dead kept three caskets and one of the right caskets has her photo if a person chooses the correct one he will get married to her but if someone chooses wrong there are few rules that he must follow.
