The lesson "The Letter" is based on the situations in which people change . The first illustration of this comes about with the slow and gradual change of Ali who had once found pleasure in the bewildered terror of young partridges bereft of their parents to now being so worried about his own daughter that he would now be determined to go to the post office everyday in quest of his daughter's letter. The second is when the postmaster changes from calling Ali a pest to be able to sympathise with him when his own daughter's letter didn't come .
