I here is ur ans -Theme of the Poem. The sonnet, Not Marble, nor the Gilded Monuments brings out the futility of statues and ornate monuments raised by the rich and the powerful to immortalize themselves. ... The poem also brings out the poet's faith in his verse and its ability to outlive the transient monuments.

The crux point of this pen is that the monuments it statues that were made in hope of being remembered by others will not be taken care after a certain period and war and disasters may destroy them.
But the literature which is written by Shakespeare will remain in the hearts of generations and generations .
It will never get destroyed by any natural or artificial disaster... This is the greatnes of Shakespeare's sonnets......
