'The Kabuliwala' is the story of an Afghan seller who comes to India to sell things in India and roams on the streets. He goes to Rabindranath Tagore's house and meets Mini, his five year old daughter. He becomes very friendly with the child. One day there is a fight and he is caught and sent to jail. After he comes out of jail he goes to meet Mini. By then Mini is a grown up girl and it is time for her marriage. Seeing her he remembers his own daughter who would have grown up in all these years. It shows that even a rough and burly man like the Kabuliwala also has fatherly affection.
