a desert cooler basically provide cool air

it is an older form of AC u could say

so to make it work you pour water in it and that water evaporates due to the constant movment of the fan

so according to latent heat of evaporation,when the water evaporates,it leaves behind coolness and take the heat to evaporate

so a desert cooler provides cool air and since evaporation takes place most in summers,it works better in summer.
