We know that metal reacts with acid to from hydrogen gas.
Here also the same principle involved as zinc is metal and sulphuric acid is itself an acid.
Thus, they will form corresponding salt and with liberation of hydrogen gas occurs.

As per the reactivity series Zn is more reactive than Hydrogen.
Hence in the chemical reaction of zinc and Sulphuric acid Zn will displace H from its salt solution and it will form ZnSO4(zinc sulphate) and H2(hydrogen) gas will be evolved.
This is and displacement reaction.
