Theory of equations refer to the study of Polynomial functions which have algebraic solutions, studying about their number and nature of roots, and many other relations.

The equations of degrees, namely,

  • Zero - Constant Function
  • One - Linear Function
  • Two - Quadratic Function
  • Three - Cubic Function
  • Four - Quartic Function

only these many polynomial equations have algebraic solutions.

Unfortunately, the pattern ends here and there are no such Algebraic solutions for Quintic, Sextic, Septic, Octic or higher degrees polynomials.
