The threat to the natural resources of Punjab:
- Punjab is a small state situated in northwestern part of India which consists of a population density of around 582 persons per square kilometers.
- But, recently Punjab’s natural resources are at a threat.
- The changing climate, decreasing rainfall, repeated floods are all changing the vegetation pattern of Punjab. The huge waste generation, construction of buildings, increasing population all are contributing to cause of depletion of natural resources in Punjab.
- Besides these, agricultural practices like no crop rotation, planting same crops over and over again on same soil is decreasing soil fertility.
