what is the title of the Passage?
By knowledge we mean the understanding of the laws that govern the working of things and men in this world. Side by side with the knowledge and understanding of each other. Psychology, which was regarded as just a minor offshoot of philosophy till the middle of the last century, is considered today to be a full- fledged, independent science. An accurate knowledge of other people's mind can help us a lot in developing better relations with them in every field of life. Child psychology has enabled us to impart education in a better way. Mob psychology has enabled our leaders and administrators to do their jobs in accordance with the wishes of the people, and Trade Psychology has made us better businessmen than our forefathers used to be. Thus, knowledge of human nature has made us better men in every field of social contacts and morality. But there is another sort of knowledge which is most difficult to acquire. It is self-knowledge, i.e., the knowledge of man's own weaknesses, and virtues, his own real nature and his own origin. With the help of self-knowledge, we can have a moral or spiritual progress of the highest order, which, in its turn, will lead us to the knowledge of our Creator. If we can discipline our mind, the temptations of the flesh, the bondage of evil habits, our sorrows and sufferings, all can be conquered by virtue of this knowledge. The power of such a knowledge cannot be estimated by worldly measurements, and in reality, self-knowledge is the greatest source of power. "Self-reverence" and self-control, the other two great elements of character flow from self-knowledge. All the great men of the world, great prophets, moralists, philosophers, politicians and statesmen have emphasized self-knowledge, and considered it as the basis of all virtues in life. (a) What kinds of knowledge, does the writer refer to? (b) What is psychology and how does it help us in life? (c) What king od knowledge is the most difficult to acquire? (d) How can we conquer our sorrows and sufferings? (e) Make a precis of the above passage and also suggest a title.
