total concentration of all ions is 2.22 M
we have to find the total concentration of all ions in an aqueous solution of 0.740 M Na₂SO₄
first dissociate sodium sulphate into its ions,
Na₂SO₄ ⇔ 2Na⁺ + SO₄¯ ¯
in one mole of Na₂SO₄, two moles of Na⁺ and one moles of SO₄²¯.
so, total number of moles of ions = 2 + 1 = 3 moles
therefore, total concentration of all ions in an aqueous solution of 0.74 M Na₂SO₄ is 3 × 0.74 = 2.22 M
