Given : 30V battery source, connected in parallel across two parallel resistances of values 60 ohm and 20 ohm

To Find :  total current supplied by a 30V battery source,

Solution:

I = V/R

V= Voltage = 30V

I = current

I in 60Ω Resistance = 30/60  = 1/2 = 0.5 A

I in 20Ω Resistance = 30/20  =3/2 = 1.5 A

Total Current = 0.5 + 1.5  = 2A

Another method

1/Req  = 1/R₁ + 1/R₂

=> 1/Req  = 1/60 + 1/20

=> 1/Req  = (1 + 3)/60

=> 1/Req  =4/60

=> 1/Req  =1/15

=>  Req  = 15

I = 30/15  = 2 A
