Answer:

The distance between the sun and the earth is 1496×108 m

As 1 km=1000 m

⇒1.496×108 km=1.496×108×103 m=1496×108 m

And 3.84×108 m is the distance between the earth and the moon.

During solar eclipse the Moon comes in between the Earth and the Sun.

So,

Distance between moon and the sun = distance of earth from sun - distance of earth from the moon

=(1496×108−3.84×108) m

=(1496−3.84)×108

=1492.16×108 m.
