The Nepalese trade balance is structurally in deficit (USD -11.9 billion in 2018, the widest since 2014). In 2018, exports reached USD 786 million, against USD 742 million a year earlier, while imports rose much faster, reaching USD 12.7 billion, compared with USD 10.3 billion in 2017.
