Transpiration is the process of water movement through a plant and its evaporation from aerial parts, such as leaves, stems and flowers. Water is necessary for plants but only a small amount of water taken up by the roots is used for growth and metabolism. The remaining 97–99.5% is lost by transpiration and guttation.

  • \impliestranspiration is biological process when the plant loses their water for rain by stomata. the water goes by heat of sun and thats why the clouds form and that causes rain. the water evaporated by stomata.

  • \impliesstomata- stomata is present in leaves of plants for inhalation and exhalation of plant.

  • \impliestranspiration also cools down body temperature of plant.

there are three types of trainspiration in plants:-

  1. Stomata- transpiration through stomata.
  2. Lenticular
  3. Cuticular

  • overview of transpiration:-

  • \impliesWater is transported through roots and then into xylem.
  • \impliesWater moves from xylem to mesophyll cell, and the evaporates from their surfaces and get difussed from stomata.

  • \impliesxylem-xylem is a plant cell used for various purposes in plant.
