Bronchovascular markings represent vessels in the lungs. Those fine vessels are visible in chest x-ray as fine white lines. These are abnormal or increased if they are too much and reach till the periphery of lung. Increased bronchovascular  markings is a broad tem and can be seen in normal individuals also.

Common differential diagnosis of increased bronchovascular markings are

1. chronic bronchitis : caused by long term cigarettee smoking eventually damaging the lung and also causing COPD ( chronic obstructive pulmonary disease).

2.asthma : due to hyperinflation in lung caused due to air trapping

3. bronchopneumonia : patchy lung infection
