It is unknown. We do not know how God will be, but have some faith in it. We do not know who we are and were we are coming from. There are many theories about evolution of humans but none can be true.
What we know is our ancestors led a life and they showed us some ways to live a life overcoming problems mostly caused by other human beings and animals (Example - Thirukkural by Thiruvalluvar, Chanakya) and what we are now living is the way taught by them (i.e. from birth, to school life, then college life, then work, marriage, again the cycle repeats with the next generation). Probably, they may also unaware of the ultimate purpose of life.
The only thing is we are adding some changes to it. That’s all. BUT THIS IS NOT THE ULTIMATE PURPOSE OF LIFE. All things which you said (happiness, achievement, rich, fame) comes under this.
The one which stops men from living his life is his duties, emotions. One cannot escape from duties, he has to do to his parents, family etc. Then what is life, why we are living, what we are doing in this life which is designed by others. NOT KNOWN.
According to Hindu’s it is reaching/knowing Lord Krishna which is the ultimate purpose of life (I believe this). For other religion it may be going to heaven. But no one knows which is true, and has not seen anything like that. IT IS ONLY HUMAN’S FAITH ON SOMETHING WHICH THEY DO NOT KNOW.
But what is true now is we are having a body and we have a life. We have to enjoy this moment and we have to take both problems or happiness, or what ever it may be as a part of our life. What we are going to do with the ultimate purpose of life. We are having nature’s beauty - admire it. Only your mind knows what you want and not others who says what you want.
