cell membrane is also known as the plasma membrane it is known as the outer layer in case of animal cells where as in the case of plant cells above this layer the cell wall is also present this cell membrane is selectively permeable membrane that allows only useful material to go through the cell and it removes all the toxins and the waste materials outside and does not let it come inside the cell.....
