Refractive index is the ratio of speed of light in vacuum to that of in a medium. Since it is a ratio of two similar quantities, it is dimensionless. So it has no unit.

NO the refractive index have no units. IT IS JUST THE RATIO OF THE SPEED OF THE LIGHT IN TWO DIFFERENT MEDIA.
