In the case of work (and also energy), the standard metric unit is the Joule (abbreviated J). One Joule is equivalent to one Newton of force causing a displacement of one meter. In other words, The Joule is the unit of work.

Answer:

Work :- newton metre

Force:- newton

Displacement:- metre

Explanation:

As we know that displacement and distance are both measured in metre (m), a it is a fundamental unit.

But,

Force = Mass X Acceleration

= Mass X velocity/time

= momentum/time

= Which is also called as Force by Newton's 2nd law.(Hope you know this)

Force unit newton is named after Sir Isaacs Newton.

From both these information

Work = Force X displacement

= Newton X metre

= Joule

= same unit as Energy.

You can also verify it by the use of Dimensional analysis.

Thankyou.
