The Small Enterprise Information and Research Centre Network (SENET), was launched in April 1997. A small industry is an industry which has a less number of workers, less machinery and less capital when compared to the medium and the large scale industries. The limit for investment in the small industry is five crore rupees. The small scale industries are the enterprises having a fixed investment in factory and machinations whether held on ownership base or rent basis or lease-purchase basis not exceeding Rs. 1 crore but for specific product industry, it is five crores.
