a kink is a divice in a thermometer , which breaks the mercury as it contracts this storing the highest temperature

it is a glass tube which breaks mercury as it contracts, storing the highest temperature reading...its also help to prevent mercury from falling..back into the bulb...hopes help plz mark as brainliest
