Use Insert > Picture to add the image to an Office file (such as a Word document, PowerPoint presentation, or Excel workbook). With the picture selected, on the Picture Format tab, select Crop. Black crop handles appear on the edges and corners of the picture. Drag the center cropping handle on that side inward.

To crop, click the image once to select it. The Format tab appears on the Ribbon. On the Format tab, click the Crop command button in the Size group. The image is now in cropping mode, and all you need to do is drag one of the image's handles inward to crop, which slices off a portion of the image.
