Desiccators are sealable enclosures containing desiccantsused for preserving moisture-sensitive items such as cobalt chloride paper for another use. A common use for desiccators is to protect chemicals which are hygroscopic or which react with water from humidity.

Heya user ,
here is your answer !!

________

Hygroscopic substances are those substances which on exposure to air absorb moisture from the atmosphere until it forms a saturated solution at that temperature .

Some of these substances are honey , magnesium chloride ( MgCl2 ) , concentrated sulphuric acid , quick lime , calcium chloride and many more .

In order to make some substances dry , they are put in a container called dessicator where calcium chloride is kept . After a few hours , the substance becomes dry as calcium chloride absorbs the moisture  .

_________

Hope it helps !!
