The use of dot product is used to find the angle between two vectors in any dimensional space.
Example:A.B=A*B*cos theta where theta is angle between A and B.
The cross product is used to find a vector which is perpendicular to the plane spanned by two vectors.
Example:Ax B=A x B x sin theta x n where theta is angle between A and B and n is unit vector along resultant.
