Answer:

Friction can be a very useful force. It basically slows down object. For example:

  • Friction between our shoes and the floor stop us from slipping.
  • Friction between tyres and the road stop cars from skidding.
  • Friction between the brakes and wheel help bikes and cars to slow down.
  • Friction between ice skating shoes and the ice stop us from slipping and falling down

If we were in a frictionLESS world, it would have been nearly impossible for us to

  • drive cars without skidding
  • ride bicycles without slowing down
  • walk on the floor without slipping
  • ice skate without continously falling down

However, TOO much friction can also be bad at times. For example

  • It causes the wear and tear of rubber
  • It reduces the lifes of machines
  • It reduces the efficiency of machines
  • It produces heat, which sometimes cause fires

In the end, friction IS useful but at the same time, it CAN be useless if OVERused or UNDERused.

Answer:

Friction is what holds your shoe to the ground. The friction present on the ice is very little, this is the reason why it is hard to walk on the slippery surface of the ice.

Hope it helps u !!
