✔The role of large intestines in the process of digestion are..

Dear:) hope its helps ☺

joshuabjose: As most of the digestion process is completed in the small intestine, the large intestine doesn't have much work to do! It absorbs the remaining water & salts. There are three parts of the large intestine as follows: the ascending colon, the transverse colon & the descending colon. After that is the rectum which holds the undigested waste after digestion. This waste is thrown out of the body through the anus.
omansg: thanks for the answer

Ions and nutrients released by gut bacteria and dissolved in water are also absorbed in the large intestine and used by the body for metabolism. The dried, condensed fecal matter is finally stored in the rectum and sigmoid colon until it can be eliminated from the body through the process of defecation.

Your large intestine is the final part of your digestive tract. Undigested food enters your large intestine from your small intestine. It then reabsorbs water that is used in digestionand eliminates undigested food and fibre. This causes food waste products to harden and form faeces, which are then excreted.

The major function of the large intestine is to absorb water from the remaining indigestible food matter and transmit the useless waste material from the body.

Hope it may helps you...!!!
