Retina forms a screen where the image is formed. It is present behind the viterous humour. It consists of two different types of cell i.e. cone cells and rod cells.

Retina provides a screen where the light after refracting from lens form an image. The image formed on retina is real and inverted. Therefore vision is not possible without retinas in our eyes.
