The use of the following functions in LibreOffice Calc.
(1) AVERAGE:
- The Open Office command for calculating the average is =AVERAGE ( ). You enter this into the cell where you want the average to appear and then choose the cells containing the data you want to average by placing your cursor within the parenthesis. Once the cells have been chosen, press ENTER to see your average.
- The sum of the numbers divided by the total number of values in the set yields the average of a group of numbers. For instance, let's say we want to know the average of 24, 55, 17, 87, and 100. Simply divide 283 by 5 to get 56.6 by finding the sum of the numbers: 24 + 55 + 17 + 87 + 100 = 283
(2) Min:
- MIN. Ignores text entries and returns the smallest argument in a list of arguments. There are up to 30 numbers or number ranges from number1 to number30. yields 2, the list's lowest value.
- To select the smallest number from a range of values, use the MIN function.
