The east to west expansion is about 37°8 to 97°25 but in between there is 30° longitude which means there is a gap of 120 min or 2 hours. To clear the confusion we have the the 82°30 E as the Standard meridian so that there will no confusion of time gap , we have choosen it because it is centrally located and it is the multiple of 7 1/2° .
