Hi Mate,

As we all know HcL is a compound. we know that compound has no valency, atom has valency. But if we break HcL into two compounds, then H has 1+ valency and Cl has 1- valency.

We know that HCL is a compound and compound have no valency. Therefore H have -1 valency and Cl have + 1
