cos^2 67° - sin^2 23° = sin^2 (90°-67°) - sin^2 23°
= sin^2 23° - sin^2 23° = 0

cos sq. 67° - sin sq. 23°
= cos sq. 67° - sin sq. ( 90° - 67° )
= cos sq. 67°- cos sq. 67°
= 0
