what is the value of D,for solving the simultaneous equation x+2y=-1 and 2x-3y=12 by determinant method?

Answer:

x+2y=-1,a1=1,b1=2

2x-3y=12,a2=2,b2=-3

Therefore,D=[a1/a2 b1/b2]

= [1/2 2/-3]

=[-3-4]

=-7

D=-7
