She took a dive into the pool. Her height (in feet) above the water level at any time ‘t’ in seconds is given by the polynomial h(t) such that,

\[h\left( t \right) = 16{t^2} + 8t + k\]

Solution:

know that, Initially, at t=0, Annie’s height is 48ft

Therefore, at t =0, h should be equal to,

\[h\left( 0 \right) =  - 16{\left( 0 \right)^2} + 8\left( 0 \right) + k = 48\]

So, that  k = 48 .

Hence, the required value of k is 48.
