What is the value of k, for which the simultaneous equation 2x+3y=8 and 6x-ky=24 have infinitely many solutions?

2x+3y=8,. (1)

6x-ky=24. (2)

Multiply equation (1) by 3,then we get,

3(2x+3y)=3×8

6x+9y=24. (3)

Equating equation (2) and (3) , we get,

6x-ky=6x+9y

-ky=9y

-k=9

k=-9
