Answer: The value of discriminant is -7.

Explanation:

The given equation is,

x^2+x+2=0

The standard form of the quadratic equation is,

ax^2+bx+c=0

By comparing the given equation with the standard equation we get,

a = 1, b = 1 and c = 2.

The Formula for discriminant is,

D=b^2-4ac

Substitute a = 1, b = 1 and c = 2,

D=1^2-4(1)(2)

D=1-8

D=-7

Therefore, the -7 is the value of the discriminant.
