Answer :-

 Q) \: \sf7x = 2x + 5

Transposing 2x from RHS to LHS, changing it's sign,

 \hookrightarrow\sf7x - 2x = 5

Subtracting 2x from 7x,

 \hookrightarrow\sf5x = 5

Transposing 5 from LHS to RHS, changing it's sign,

 \hookrightarrow\sf x =  \dfrac{5}{5}

Dividing 5 by 5,

 \hookrightarrow\sf x = 1

V E R I F I C A T I O N

  • To check our answer, let's put 1 in the place of x and check whether LHS = RHS.

LHS

 \leadsto\rm 7x

Substituting the value of x,

 \leadsto\rm 7 \times 1

Multiplying 7 with 1,

 \leadsto\rm 7

RHS

 \leadsto\rm 2x + 5

Substituting the value of x,

 \leadsto\rm 2 \times 1 + 5

Applying the BODMAS rule and multiplying 2 with 1 first,

 \leadsto\rm 2 + 5

Adding 5 to 2,

 \leadsto\rm 7

Since LHS = RHS,

Hence verified!
